The Luxury of Aging

I can get caught up in our “selfie” motivated society and dread the aging process.

A natural process that every living thing experiences.

I just don’t like seeing the wrinkles and grey hair appear when I truly feel like I’m still 22 years old.

My youngest son just turned into double digits and he was moaning how he doesn’t want to grow up…he wants to be a kid forever. Truthfully, I don’t blame him.

Don’t we all wish sometimes for the clock to stand still or even to go backwards because we don’t want to face “growing up”?

This photo and blogpost  from mama’s musings however, puts all those Peter Pan-ish thoughts into perspective.

I love what she says about seizing the now moments of each day and to be fully present. Of not insulting today because we pine for yesterday.

Instead of fearing the calendar, be grateful for each birthday we get to celebrate. Be grateful for each and every day we get to spend with those we love.

Not everyone gets that luxury.

I think my Mom will agree.
