Mindful Fatherhood

Happy Father’s Day to all you fathers out there!! This is a great day to honor the sacred calling of FATHER.

Thank you Dad’s for killing those freaky spiders and checking those nasty mouse traps. For cooking those delicious pancakes early in the morning and making Mom buy cookies at the grocery store instead of carrot sticks. For cleaning those gross hair-clogged shower drains, and for changing those hard to reach light bulbs even though they drive you crazy. Thank you for paying for kids piano lessons and plane tickets, tanks of gas in an empty teenager’s car, and lunch for the man on the street corner holding a cardboard sign.

Thank you Dad’s for taking care of so many souls, in so many different ways. This world desperately needs more mindful Dad’s that know why fatherhood is key to a prosperous society. Keep your eyes ahead and desires bolstered to assist in mentoring the next generation. Our communities will benefit greatly with more faith-filled fathers.

And to EB, you are a wonderful father to our children that I am so lucky to be married to. Your strength, kindness and diligence to whatever you are asked to do, has set our family a blaze with light, goodness, energy and love. You have a long stride, EB, and I am just trying to keep up with you.

How blessed are the children that call you Dad and/or Grandpa.
